In a truly inspiring video on social media, Annika shared footage from her childhood encounter with Nicks. As she explained in her post, her mom had taken her to an event where the famous musician would be answering questions from fans. Although the little girl was incredibly nervous, she really wanted some input from her idol regarding her own future career as a singer. So, voice shaking, she asked Stevie Nicks for her advice. Her answer was totally worth all the butterflies in Annika’s stomach!
“You know what?” the musician told her. “You just have to believe in yourself. I was singing when I was your age, and I didn’t care if anybody liked it or not.”
Just because this advice was simple didn’t mean that it would be easy to follow. It can be really tough to silence your inner critic, especially when you’re young! However, Annika was determined to follow her dreams. So, she spent the next 10 years honing her craft as a singer-songwriter.
It looks like things have been going pretty well! At the end of this beautiful post, Annika Rose shared that she had just released a brand new EP titled Riverside Drive. Commenters were so excited for her! Many pointed out how adorable it was that, seconds after meeting the girl at age 11, Stevie Nicks had called her the cutest nickname: “Little A.”
“Stevie Nicks literally gave you her blessing,” wrote one user. “I’m covered in goosebumps, Annika!”
Another added, “This is gold. Good for you Little A!”
It’s amazing to see established musicians like Stevie Nicks passing on their advice to the next generation. This moment clearly meant the world to Annika Rose! We can’t wait to see where else her career takes her.
