“Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers,” he wrote on X.

Many Prayed for Pope Leo’s Health

He appears to be both in good health and frame of mind, but a few extra prayers for Pope Leo certainly will not hurt. They quickly began to appear on his X post.

“Dear Papa, I found the perfect prayer of healing by Saint Padre Pio, and I just Prayed it in Your name to Our Heavenly Father on Your behalf. I hope that You don’t mind and Get Well,” a preayer reads.

This person agreed, praying, “I will most certainly pray for you Pope Leo. Please know that millions of people across the world are praying for your quick and full recovery!!! God Bless you, Pope Leo.”

Even those who may not follow Pope Leo’s words hope his health remains well.

“Dear Leo, I’m not at all religious, but I admire your work greatly, and the world is a better, kinder place thanks to you. I sincerely hope that all goes well for your surgery, and (rusty as I may be) will pray for you,” someone wrote.
