Whale Hello There! Humpback Decides To Join Kayaker Paddling Along Australian Beach.

A kayaker in Australia may have made an unexpected friend! In a video shared online, drone footage shows a humpback whale following the small craft at Bondi Beach in Sydney. The footage was captured by Jason Iggleden, who frequently films clips of marine life. He uploads his findings to the Drone Shark app.

“Whales are always a treat as they cruise up the coast during migration season,” Jason told CNN. “Human and sea life interactions are always so fascinating and it’s a reminder to all of us to appreciate, respect and coexist with our oceans.”

Although the kayaker didn’t seem to notice the whale swimming nearby, the number of humpback whales spotted in the area has reached an all-time high. Australia marks the end of their migration, which begins near Antarctica.
