Jillian Lynch of Dallas, Texas has always been a bargain shopper, and her thrifty nature really came in handy as she planned her wedding recently. The digital creator often shares her finds on her popular TikTok channel, but when she scooped up a wedding dress for practically a song, even her biggest fans were shocked by her shopping prowess.
Jillian shared the video just one month before her May wedding, which was held in Phoenix, Arizona. In it, she holds up an off-white Camila Coelho Reyna Maxi dress that she found in a thrift shop in Ohio. The dress was brand-new with the tags still on it. The original price was already a bargain at $4.99, but it had been marked down even further to $3.75!
“I’m not sure if this is my wedding dress yet, but it’s definitely by back-up wedding dress,” Jillian said as she modeled the dress.
Not only did she snag the dress, she also found a pair of low-heeled nude heels to go with it. She picked up her Italian pumps from the Visanze Collection for a measly $8!
Jillian asked her followers for their opinion on the dress, and more than 6,000 people chimed in. The video wound up going viral with more than 3.1 million views.
It took four dress alterations costing about $110 to get the dress just as Jillian wanted it, but even with the cost of alterations, her total wedding ensemble came out to just $125. She shared a video of herself modeling the finished dress and shoes, where she wore her hair up adorned with baby’s breath.
“Pretty sure the baby’s breath cost more than the dress,” she joked in the video.
We could all take a page from Jillian’s book! It may take a bit of luck to find treasures like these, but it’s worth it if it means more money in the bank.
