“The Voice” Winner Asher HaVon Saved His Best Performance For Last: Watch

Asher HaVon The Voice

Season 25 of The Voice wrapped up last night (May 21), and Asher HaVon came out the victor, which was no surprise after his gorgeous rendition of I Will Always Love You.

Many fans knew Asher was the clear winner after his blind audition with Adele’s Set Fire to the Rain. The jaw-dropping performance earned him a unanimous chair turn and left coaches Reba McEntire, Dan + Shay, Chance The Wrapper, and John Legend nearly speechless. Asher, of course, chose Reba as his mentor, and she even admitted she knew she’d nabbed the top competitor.

“When he picked me after I turned on the blind auditions, I had a sneaking suspicion he was going to be the winning contestant,” she told People.

But If anyone had doubts about Asher’s talents leading into the Top 5, they probably cast them aside after hearing him belt the Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston classic. If you missed the season finale, you can listen to Asher’s I Will Always Love You below.

Asher HaVon’s “I Will Always Love You” Performance Was “Breathtaking”

Asher had many memorable performances throughout the season. But his fans think he saved his best for last.

“Asher, your rendition of I Will Always Love You was nothing short of breathtaking,” someone wrote on YouTube. “You managed to honor Whitney Houston’s iconic version while making it uniquely your own.”

“Asher has No fear,” gushed another. “I was ready but I wasn’t. So sweet & tender, vulnerable with an inner strength. He took his time on this melody, milked every moment, fluttered into that falsetto, then belted out the big notes with ease. Amazing vocalist.”

The 31-year-old took home a $100,000 prize and earned a record deal with Universal Music Group after winning The Voice Season 25. We look forward to hearing what the talented singer does next.
