COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, but so do gestures of kindness and unity.
In this time of crisis, people are stepping up more than ever to show their neighbors they care. One utility worker in Winter Park, Florida, knew the perfect way to lift quarantined seniors’ spirits — with his heavenly voice.
While working near the Alabama Oaks Assisted Living facility, the man saw an elderly woman and her caregiver outside. So he decided to treat their ears with an impromptu performance of “His Eye Is on the Sparrow.” His take on the classic gospel hymn was as stunning as it was uplifting. The two watched, captivated, as he sang outside the gate. And they weren’t the only ones!
Jennifer Brown, who shared a video of the sweet moment on Facebook, wrote, “He made so many of the residents’ days yesterday. Several were sitting out on the porch listening too.”
What a beautiful way to connect from a distance! This man is an angel for using his talent to spread joy to our seniors, who need all the love and support they can get right now. Here’s hoping this won’t be his last performance during the pandemic.
Listen as the man belts it out in the video below, and share to spread love for him.
