From kids having to say goodbye to their parents to owners being forced to leave their pets behind, the Russia-Ukraine war has led to the separation of millions of loved ones.
In the midst of the violence and chaos, many Ukrainians dream of reuniting again with their friends and families, both human and animal. Luckily for this family, that dream just came true, all thanks to a brave soldier.
One of the members of a Belarussian volunteer squad saw Nessie, a husky, wandering off the streets of Bucha near Ukraine’s capital. When she saw the lonely dog, she knew she had to do something to help. In hopes of finding her owner, she posted a picture of herself and Nessie on Facebook. It seemed like a long shot, but… it miraculously worked!
Thankfully, the sweet reunion was caught on camera and posted on the Kastus Kalinouski Battalion’s Facebook page. This heartwarming video shows the exciting moment when Nessie recognizes her owner and literally runs to give him some puppy kisses. She even starts barking and crying in the most adorable way!
