Man Discovers Dog Trapped In 20-Ft Hole And Rushes To Save The Day.

You just never know when you’ll need to be the hero in an animal’s life.

Ty McIntyre wasn’t thinking about dogs when he went to work one day in May. He was walking a property and its surrounding areas near Mableton, Georgia, when he stumbled across a tragic scene.

Deep inside a man-made test hole, a dog sat looking mournfully up at him. The pit was roughly 20 feet deep, so Ty immediately knew that he’d need some help getting the pup out. He called for backup and asked his Facebook friends for advice.

“I need some help finding lost dogs in the Mableton, GA, area,” he wrote. “I was walking a job and walked up on this dog in a test hole about 20′ deep. He has a collar on, so I imagine someone is missing him. Animal control is on the way to help get him out.”

Cobb County Animal Services soon arrived to save the day. Firefighters and animal rescue officers worked together to descend into the deep hole and carry the dog to safety. Incredibly enough, the confused canine was totally unharmed!

They were able to locate the dog’s owner and reunite them that very same day. The pup is now home safe and sound, and it’s all thanks to a kind stranger who was in the right place at the right time. Cobb County Animal Services even gave Ty a special shoutout on social media to thank him for helping the frightened pooch.

“Thank you to Mr. Ty McIntyre who found this sweet dog,” they wrote. “He was checking a property and found the dog in a hole. @cobbcountyfire (Station 1) responded and with the help of ACO Huber, the dog was freed unharmed. The owner was located shortly after.”

Thank goodness Ty happened to be out in the forest that day. We’re so glad he was willing to drop everything and assist an animal in need.
