Tom Brady Reveals How His Kids Really Feel About Him & His Celebrity Status

Tom Brady

Millions of football fans around the world are enamored with legendary quarterback Tom Brady, but his kids are completely unimpressed with his celebrity status and seven Super Bowl rings.

“I’m just their dad, so everything I do is lame, and you know, there’s nothing I do that’s right,” he told ET. “But it’s fun being a dad. I’ve got some great kids.”

Tom is a father to Jack, 16, with his ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan, and Benjamin, 14, and, Vivian, 11, with ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen. The 46-year-old retired from the NFL in early 2023 after 23 seasons. Since stepping off the field, he’s been spending extra time with his kids, which is helping him hone his parenting skills.

Tom Brady Is Learning As He Goes

In a separate interview on DeepCut with VicBlends, Tom Brady admitted that even with 16 years behind him, he’s still learning how to be a good dad. And he’s actively working on improving his game.

“You get better as a parent, I think, because you know when you’re a young parent, you don’t really know what you’re doing. You’re winging it,” he said. “You’re trying to wing it.”

The former quarterback said everything was a “first” with Jack. When he welcomed his second and third children, he had experience and a new perspective.

“So I think when you become a parent, you’re trying new things for the first time, you’re going through all these things for the first time so you don’t exactly know always the right thing to say,” he continued. “As you go, you get a little bit better at it, you get a little more understanding of it and you try to just continue to kind of refresh your skills as a parent.”

“‘Am I listening or am I talking? Am I mentoring, or am I disciplining?” he asked. “Or am I holding them accountable or am I letting them get away with things?”
