Tom is an incredible singer with an unusual voice; he used to be bullied for his voice, but he recently began sharing it with the world through a music app and through YouTube. When a video of him singing a cover of Jessie J’s “Flashlight” went viral, Tom started a hashtag to try and get Ellen’s attention. Well, it paid off! Ellen invited Tom on the show! Tom called it “a dream come true” and “surreal,” but he had no idea Ellen had another special guest waiting just offstage…
That other guest was none other than Jessie J herself, and she wasn’t just there to meet her biggest fan, she was ready to sing with him!
Without any prior rehearsal at all, the two sang a beautiful surprise duet together.
But the best part might not even be their performance, it’s Tom’s awesome attitude! Tom tells Ellen he sings to achieve “happiness and love and [to spread] positivity.”
