Today Show hosts Craig Melvin and Dylan Dryer got a fantastic surprise during the live broadcast on August 31. Emilie Ikeda was filling in during the 3rd Hour of Today, and the group decided to share their favorite part of the weekend.

“I feel like my weekend is best encapsulated in pictures. I think we maybe have some,” Emilie said, holding up pictures with her husband Pat that made a huge announcement.
“Oh my God, you’re having a baby!” Craig cheered.
No One on “Today” Knew About Emilie Ikeda’s Pregnancy
“For those at home, they legitimately don’t know,” she said, smiling. “I’m surprising them right now.”
Emilie told her co-hosts that she’s about five months along and is expecting her first baby in January. The news delighted Craig and Dylan, right along with Today fans.
As Dylan Dryer and Craig Melvin sat shocked, Emilie Ikeda let the audience in on her surprise.
“Congrats!! So cute the way she announced it. Craig and Dylan were so surprised,” a fan shared.
“Craig’s reaction is why he’s my favorite,” one of Craig’s fans added. “Such a good guy!”
This person loves that Emilie and Pat are waiting until birth to learn the baby’s sex.
“Congrats! We didn’t find out about the sex of our babies until I delivered. I had boy/girl twins in 1985. I loved the surprise!!!” They wrote.
“I’m so excited and now I’m in the stage where I can feel the baby kicking, which is miraculous!” Emilie Ikeda shared. “I might be in a bad mood. I might be preoccupied. I might be into a script and then I feel this baby kick and I’m like, ‘Oh, it’s my buddy.’ ”
