One of my favorite parts of shows like “The Voice” is getting the chance to see emerging artists put their own spin on classic songs. This stunning rendition of “My Immortal” by Evanescence is the perfect example of why I feel that way. This performance took place during the Battle rounds, meaning that Gwen Stefani had to choose between Joslynn Rose and Rudi.

As Stefani would point out after their performance, these two skilled singers have very different voices. This means that they were able to bring their own style to the song, all while complementing each other beautifully.
“I just want everyone to understand, first of all, this song is hard,” Stefani said, going on to discuss how difficult her choice was. “We’re just getting to know each other — you both have so much potential. And you’re just so different that it’s like, how is there really a winner? It doesn’t really seem fair.”
