It takes a strong person to work in animal rescue. Oftentimes these animal lovers wind up seeing some of the worst cases of abuse and neglect imaginable. The good news is there are so many wonderful success stories to temper the sad cases!
A mama pit bull named Skittles is on her way to becoming one of those success stories. Skittles was living as a stray on the streets of St. Louis, Missouri when she was rescued and brought to Gateway Pet Guardians. Her rescuers took one look at her bulging belly and determined that she was pregnant. An X-ray revealed 8 adorable little babies in there!
Naturally, the shelter workers decided they needed to have a maternity photo shoot right away. They also documented the whole rescue process, from Skittles’ intake to portraits of her asleep in a pile of soft red tulle, on TikTok. The video has been viewed more than 1.5 million times and counting, so we’re certain this sweet mama and her pups will be going to their forever homes soon.
