The only thing we love more than Carly Mickeal’s “American Idol” audition is the fact that she and her dad, Dave, got to perform together!
Carly is a dog groomer by day, but she also has a passion for music that her dad nurtured. That’s why, when it came time for her to perform “My Song” by Elton John, she was happy to have him accompany her on the piano.
Normally, the piano player doesn’t get much attention during “Idol” auditions, but between him being Carly’s dad and the fact that he gave just as passionate of a performance as his daughter, Dave couldn’t help but take some of the spotlight. Together, they created a beautiful rendition of a classic song, making it easy for the judges to decide that she gets to move on to Hollywood!
