This Band Uses Vintage Typewriters To Make Music — Watch Their Tiny Desk Concert.

The Boston Typewriter Orchestra tries out for the Tiny Desk Contest.

Do you love the sound of vintage typewriters? So do the musicians in the Boston Typewriter Orchestra so much that they decided to use these retro machines as instruments! The group composed and recorded a song titled, “Left Blank” that is entirely made up of clacking keys and margin bells. Then, they submitted it to NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest.

“We only do desk concerts. C’mon, this is a no-brainer,” they wrote in the caption of their YouTube video.

According to My Modern Met, the Boston Typewriter Orchestra unfortunately didn’t win the contest. However, you can listen to their music on YouTube, TikTok, and Bandcamp!
