Kellyoke Strikes Again
EW shared that “the festival will see Clarkson speak with a medley of actors, musicians, and ‘rad humans’ — everyday people making a difference within their communities — on its larger and, thankfully, covered stage.”
The showrunner Alex Duda spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the importance of Kellyoke for the show. He said, “Maybe the Kellyoke is the siren tone that brings up people from New York. And then we have a group party – the last party of the summer and the first party of the fall.”
The show has had surprise appearances from Jimmy Fallon, Jared Leto, Chris Pratt, and more. Part of everyone wanting to get involved is due to Kelly’s incredible personality. Duda described the show as, “This is Kelly herself. It’s unbridled joy, positivity, it’s music, it’s humor, it’s heart, it’s all of those things together and just in a very real way.”
EW perfectly described The Kelly Clarkson Show by saying that it is a “mix of buzzy celebrity interviews, human interest stories, and Clarkson’s celebrated Kellyoke covers.” The show has admitted that Season 6 will be giving those beloved Kellyoke covers more air time.
Kelly Clarkson’s Loveable Nature
The Kelly Clarkson Show wouldn’t be so successful without the incredible hostess. Her personality is radiant and it shines through the screen to all of us who watch her. Her showrunner admitted that “Clarkson’s authenticity was one of the first things” that caught his eye. He said, “She’s exactly who you think she is.”
Not only is Kelly Clarkson a loveable personality, but she also controls a large part of the show as well. She is an executive producer for the series and also gets the final say in the Kellyoke picks. The only thing that a song has to have to make the cut is that she has to be able to connect to the song emotionally. As long as she feels a connection to the song, Kelly Clarkson will sing just about anything on Kellyoke.
EW shared that “the process of selecting, arranging, preparing, and performing Kellyoke songs has changed over the last 800+ performances on the show.” While the show used to take requests from fans, it has not evolved to taking requests from staff and fellow celebrities during commercial breaks.
Fans of The Kelly Clarkson Show and of Kellyoke are also being promised more duets this season. Furthermore, “Duda hopes the season will continue to build upon its mission of blending songs and stories together.” We cannot wait to see what Season 6 of The Kelly Clarkson Show has in store for us.
