The Beautiful Way A “Just The Weekend” Foster Toddler Becomes Family’s Unexpected Blessing.

A toddler spends time with her foster mom and sibling.

When a couple was asked to take in an emergency foster toddler for the weekend, they weren’t expecting her to become part of their home. After all, they were already about to expand their family. A baby was on the way, and they didn’t think they were ready to become a two-child household. However, foster mom Julia shared on TikTok that things turned out a little differently than planned.

“We really wanted to be able to focus on the baby as an only child so we agreed to just the weekend,” the young mother wrote in her video. “That weekend has come and gone. This little girl has been the most unexpected blessing.”

Julia included some adorable clips of the weekend foster baby getting more and more comfortable in her new home. Footage showed the sweet little girl playing, reading, and cuddling with her loving parents. Of course, Mom censored the child’s face to protect her privacy.

Although Julia and her husband have decided to foster the toddler for much, much longer than the weekend, this situation isn’t permanent. At some point, the child may return to her original home. However, both foster parents are determined to show her as much love as possible in the meantime.

“While our time with her is unknown, we are blessed to be able to love her until she goes home,” Julia added at the end of the video. “We love you sweet girl.”

Whether they’re staying for the weekend or more, foster toddlers and kids have a way of growing on their families. It’s so beautiful to see these relationships blossom as children get the care and attention they need!
