The saying “family isn’t always blood” doesn’t just apply to us humans!
When baby Beau was born, she was rejected by her mom. Thankfully, a dog named Max was more than happy to take her place. Olivia Jane Akers, farmer and caretaker of these creatures, says that when Max first met the lonely lamb, “It was love at first sight … that was HER baby.”
As Beau grew up, Max was always by her side. She’d help her bathe, stay safe, and most importantly, gave her the love she both deserved and needed. The two of them were inseparable for quite some time until, finally, Beau was old enough to join the other sheep.
Even though this adorable duo isn’t together 24/7 like before, they’re still an integral part of each other’s lives! Every day, Olivia makes sure they get to see and play with each other, something she says they’ll get to do for the rest of their lives.
