Thanksgiving In Space: NASA Shares Time-Lapse Of Unique Celebration.

A group of astronauts share a Thanksgiving meal in space.

Have you ever wondered how astronauts celebrate Thanksgiving? Thanks to an Instagram video uploaded by NASA, now we know! The organization shared some wholesome footage of one of their crews enjoying a meal together on the International Space Station in 2015. It sure makes it easier to pass the rolls when they float!

In a more recent post, NASA announced that 2023 marks 50 years since the first Thanksgiving in space! To commemorate the occasion, they shared photos from 1973, 1985, and 2001. They also included a video message from a group of current astronauts spending the holiday among the stars.

“This year, NASA astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli and Loral O’Hara along with ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Andreas Mogensen and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Satoshi Furukawa celebrate Thanksgiving with roast turkey, cranberry sauce, butternut squash, corn, and cranberry-apple dessert,” the caption reads.
