The founder, Michael Johnson, started the organization a few years ago with help from his family and friends. Since their first morning on the streets, the Burrito Boyz have prepared over 132,000 meals for the homeless in their city. In Johnson’s mind, the organization brings hope to people who have none, and gives their volunteers some major perspective on the blessings they enjoy every day.

Every Sunday, the Burrito Boyz wake up at 4:30 am to start cooking for the homeless. Young adults, teens, and even kids show up to prepare the cheese, egg, and potato burritos. The aptly named Burrito Boyz are able to prepare over 600 meals for those who are desperately in need every week.

After the cooking is done, the organization set up two different distribution kiosks in the city where they pass out food, hygiene products, pet food, books, and even healthy snacks for children.

Check out the incredible impact a few kind people can make in a world that is hurting. We can all learn from their example.
