Growing up, Sara James was told that America is a place where dreams come true. To find out how accurate that saying was, she decided to fly across the world to find out firsthand!
This 13-year-old from Poland is a huge fan of “America’s Got Talent,” a show she’d watch clips of on YouTube. She’s always dreamed of performing on the stage herself, but nothing could have prepared her for the day it actually happened.
As the judges got to know her before her audition, they could tell she was nervous. Still, this brave teen powered through her nerves to deliver a breathtakingly beautiful rendition of “Lovely” by Billie Eilish.
Although Simon Cowell said her performance wasn’t perfect, she still managed to blow him away.
“You have a real star glow,” said Cowell.
Cowell wasn’t only blown away because of her talent, but because the two of them share a similar experience when it comes visiting the United States for the first time.
“It must be such an unbelievable feeling doing this in front of an American audience because I’m guessing this is probably where you dreamt of performing,” Cowell said. “And I can remember when I came to America for the first time and – that was 20 odd years ago – and that is a moment I’ll never forget. And I want to make this a moment for you to remember forever.”
With that, Cowell gave her the Golden Buzzer, pushing her straight to the live shows! As confetti fell all around Sara, she couldn’t help but cry tears of joy.
