Teen Spotted Approaching Neighborhood Houses, His Reason Will Make Your Day!

A teenage boy has been winning hearts all over after deciding to mow lawns around his neighborhood to earn some extra cash. The reason? All he wanted was to take his girlfriend out on a date, but he needed a little money first (cue the collective ‘aweeeeeeee.’)

The chivalrous boy in question, Cody Mitschelen, was making the rounds through his neighborhood asking neighbors if he could mow their lawn for $5… then he knocked on Ryan Cox’s door.

Cox was ready to deny the service as he already had a lawn crew, but out of curiosity he asked what the money was for. Cody simply said, “I’d like to take my girlfriend to lunch tomorrow and I don’t have enough money.”

Cox was so impressed with the young man that he recruited a neighbor to help Cody get more business. That day, the old school teenager made enough money to take his girlfriend to dinner and buy her flowers to boot.

Cox then took the story to Facebook, posting the photo and caption below. The photo has since gone viral… it’s been shared nearly 100,000 times!

“This 14-year-old boy came by the house with a lawnmower wanting to mow our lawn for $5. Well…me being a hustler I had to ask this kid why you mowing lawns? He replied with… “I’d like to take my girlfriend to lunch tomorrow and I don’t have enough money.”

So we’ve been going door to door getting him business and he busted his ass mowing lawns and sweeping sidewalks and made enough to take her to lunch and get her flowers. I’m so happy this still exists… Hope is still alive for the future generation and our sons and daughters. I’m impressed by whoever is raising this boy, great job!!!

Thanks to you guys that also noticed and pitched in on the cause to building our future men!”

Cheers to that! What a great example of what good parenting and work ethic can produce in our young people.
