Reddit user DUSTYHAM posted a series of images last week that will restore your faith in humanity. After finding out that many of their neighbors had left their dogs behind to fend for themselves, DUSTYHAM’s little brother and his dad decided to jump in their john boat and rescue them from flooded homes in the area.

The unnamed Reddit user posted this blurb and the images below to document the selfless rescue mission.

“This was forecasted a week or so in advance, some situations I can understand,”wrote DUSTYHAM. “Not this one.”Neither can we, however, it’s also possible that the owners were away from home and not able to come back for their pooches. Whatever the reason, the poor pups were brought to safety. “They all went to temporary shelter set up by the local humane society,”DUSTYHAM explained. The dogs will be cared for until their owners come to pick them up or they’re adopted.”

DUSTYHAM’s little brother and dad rescued over forty dogs in the span of just a few days. All of the pups have been taken to local animal shelters. If you’d like to donate to support these pups, follow this link to find the shelters housing each of them. Hopefully, something like this will never happen again, but thankfully there are people like this left in the world.
