Meet Taro, The Cat Who Loves To Stand On His Hind Legs Like A Tiny Human.

You just never know what you’re going to get when you bring a new pet home. Will they get along with their furry and human siblings? Will they be shy? Will they be afraid of the vacuum?

One question you don’t usually have to ask, however, could be, “Are they part meerkat?”

A couple in the San Francisco Bay area have been asking themselves that ever since they adopted a Scottish Kilt kitten named Taro about a year ago.

“I’m like, ‘Is he gonna start walking one day?'” his new parents pondered.

Scottish Kilts are a cross between Scottish Fold and Munchkin cats, so Taro has extremely short limbs and will always have a small, kitten-like appearance. His short legs are probably also the reason he has a habit of sitting upright on his bottom to get a better view of whatever’s going on!

“I noticed he would stand when he was curious about something,” one of his humans said. “He will stand when we’re having dinner. He will see what we’re eating. It’s another way of saying, ‘Give me some of what you’re eating.'”

Other than his small stature and funny habit of standing up, Taro is a pretty normal feline. He loves playing with his big brother Zippo, who is a Maine Coon cat.

Their parents find it hilarious that they have one cat who is among the largest breeds and one who is among the smallest. Regardless of their size differences, Zippo and Taro are the best of friends!

The two felines have become the stars of their own popular Instagram page. While all their photos are incredibly cute, it’s Taro’s odd habit of sitting up that has everyone laughing out loud! It’s just so unusual – and adorable!

Take another look at Taro doing his thing in the video below, and don’t forget to share the joy with a friend.
