Skaters Send Chills Down Audience’s Spines With Sultry Ice Dance.

When Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres got onto the ice at the 2017 European Figure Skating Championship, the announcer said, the skaters before were a “tough act to follow.”

He definitely ate his words just moments later when Vanessa and Morgan began their routine. The duo were four-time French champions, sadly, though, they’d only gotten as close as fourth place in the European championships. That’s probably why the commentator initially underestimated their abilities.

However, once the music started, it became clear Vanessa and Morgan were determined to step up their game.

The pair skated in flawless unison to “Earned It” by the Weeknd. It’s no surprise that thanks to the more romantic theme of the song, Vanessa and Morgan’s interpretation of the music were a bit more risque. Even the commentator noted the French skaters chose a theme that was noticeably different from their competitors.

Sometimes that boldness can work against skaters, but the pair did a beautiful job.

After repeatedly missing the podium, this stunning performance moved Vanessa and Morgan into second place; they later earned a bronze medal. Following so many near misses, it was a proud achievement for the French skaters.
