Subway is known for its foot-long sandwiches on fluffy bread. IN 2026, the brand has gone to the dogs. Well, in Canada, at least. RTN Toronto shared news about Subway’s new SubDog, and it sounds wild.

“The fast-food chain has announced the launch of the SubDog, a limited-time hot dog served on Subway’s signature bread and loaded with toppings,” an Instagram post reads. “The new menu item packs a whopping 1,280 calories, making it one of the most indulgent offerings Subway has ever introduced.”
Subway’s SubDog is Only for a Limited Time
This isn’t the first time Subway’s introduced the SubDog, but for now, it’s only available up north.
“The SubDog will only be available for a limited time, giving Canadians a chance to decide whether the sandwich giant’s latest creation is a hit or a miss,” RTN Toronto added. “Would you try a Subway hot dog?”
It seems quite a few people would like to try Subway’s new SubDog, according to X.
“Me telling myself I am eating fresh while casually polishing off a 1,280 calorie ballpark sausage inside a footlong Italian herbs & cheese bread,” one person wrote.
Others want to get to Canada ASAP. Like this person, “1,280 calories in bread form? I’m booking a flight to Canada immediately Who’s joining the SubDog cult?”
But the SubDog wasn’t a hit for everyone. Like this person who thinks it’s only a marketing ploy. “SUBWAY is selling HOTDOGS? these company’s are just doing ANYTHING nowadays,” they wrote.
Others think the SubDog is just too unhealthy.
“Mentioning the amount of calories is not going to increase sales,” someone pointed out.
“Canada saw all the Europeans eating calorie abominations in the US and said two can play that game,” another person joked.
