Steve Irwin’s genuine care for animals and optimism for life made him loved by folks all around the world. His energy was contagious, something that was apparent from the moment anyone met him – including his wife, Terri Irwin. The two of them first met while he was filming, a moment they both loved to reminisce about. In fact, a video of them talking about this very moment is going around on social media again, and it’s like a scene straight out of a movie.
The video starts with Terri recalling what she thought of Steve on that first day. Instantly, she could tell that he was different from any other guy she had met, though she assumed he was taken. In reality, Steve was so struck by the mere sight of Terri that he nearly forgot he was handling an animal that very well could have harmed him.
“When I saw Terri in the crowd, I looked up and our eyes met, and my heart just went ‘bang, bang, bang, bang’ – just started thumping!” Steve said. “It was love at first sight. I know this sounds like it’s coming out of some Mills & Boon love novel, but it’s true!”
To top off this incredible meet-cute, someone took a photo of them the very day they met. It’s a photo that Terri still had at the time of the video, and it’s one she no doubt still has to this day. What a perfect keepsake for such an incredible couple.
