It’s been a challenging few years for fast-food chain Steak ‘n Shake. They’ve closed hundreds of restaurants across the country and changed their model from fast-casual with servers to counter and kiosk ordering. Steak ‘n Shake also simplified its menu, hoping to cut costs and bring in more customers. The most recent change is one that some health experts agree is a move in the right direction. According to Instagram, “Steak n Shake to use 100% All-Natural Beef Tallow Fries in all restaurants by the end of February 2025. Epic!”

Steak ‘n Shake Fries Made With Beef Tallow Has Some Fans Excited
Beef tallow is thought to be a healthier frying alternative than seed oils. Some large chains like Buffalo Wild Wings and Outback Steakhouse already fry in beef tallow. The move impressed another tallow-loving company.
Allow Nourishment commented on Steak’ N Shake’s Instagram, “Looks like Steak ‘n Shake just unlocked the secret ingredient to greatness—beef tallow! 👏 As a tallow-based skincare company, we know firsthand that tallow works wonders… now it’s giving your fries a glow-up too!”
This person will make the drive for beef tallow fries, “Steak n shake just gained a new customer. Closest one is miles away but ill gladly make the drive because of this.”
