McDonald’s introduced a new Happy Meal on January 21, and the 90s kids are lovin’ it. The collaboration features Pokémon and dinosaurs, and the nostalgia has fans ready to hit the golden arches for lunch. McDonald’s shared the Pokémon Happy Meal news in a release on Tuesday. The Happy Meals features a Pokémon Trading Card Game, and for fans with the app, even more fun. According to McDonald’s, each Happy Meal includes a Pokémon TCG booster pack with four of 15 Pokémon TCG cards, a Pokémon poster, and a sticker sheet for decorating.

Pokémon Has Long Been a Fan Favorite, and McDonald’s Knows It
Guillaume Huin, Senior Marketing Director at McDonald’s, shared his excitement in a statement.
“There’s nothing more exciting than when we can bring campaigns to our fans with partners that we’re fans of ourselves,” he said. “Much like they do for McDonald’s, our fans have deep nostalgia and love for the Pokémon brand. We’re thrilled to build on those great memories and create a new moment of fun and happiness with the new Pokémon Happy Meal.”
Of course, McDonald’s had to be totally extra with this Happy Meal and made the box part of the Pokémon experience. Each of the four special Pokémon Happy Meal boxers features a brightly colored design and either Charizard, Pikachu, and Dragonite together, Rayquaza, or Roaring Moon.
Plenty of Happy Meal fans shared their excitement for the Pokémon experience on McDonald’s Instagram.
A fan wrote, “Ahhh love this!! Glad Charizard gets his moment to shine with the dragons!!”
This person also loved the packaging, “These boxes are so cool! Love it!!!”
Some worry that adults will ruse to McDonald’s and steal all the Pokémon fun from kids, “Hopefully, the kids have some cards to get, and growna– adults aren’t buying them all out.”
This person might be one of them, “Adults: you’re not a kid anymore Me: SWIPE.”
Per McDonald’s, the Pokémon Happy Meals are available now until supplies last at participating United States McDonald’s restaurants.
