The Christmas season is officially underway, and with it comes the arrival of some of Santa’s best helpers.
The Elf on the Shelf has quickly become a household tradition that many families cherish. These mischievous toy elves are said to watch over the children of their homes, ensuring the kids behave themselves in the hectic days leading up to Christmas. These elves tend to get into trouble overnight, so kids are used to finding them posed in different places around the house, often bearing gifts.

Sparkle is an Elf on the Shelf who lives with the Inkpen family in North Carolina. Sparkle’s favorite human is Ryleigh Inkpen, a sweet little girl who loves seeing what mischief he’ll get up to next. This holiday season, he really outdid himself before December had even begun!
Ryleigh’s mom Courtney was recording video of the moment when her daughter received the kind of Elf on the Shelf gift most kids could only dream of getting.

As Ryleigh was getting ready for bed one night, there was a knock on the front door. Her parents urged her to go answer it, and when she opens the door she sees the cutest, fluffiest Christmas gift ever. Yup, you guessed it – it’s a puppy!

And holding the puppy’s leash is none other than Sparkle. When Ryleigh spots the dog she instantly gasps and claps a hand over her mouth. She’s speechless for a moment, but when she notices th naughty elf she bursts into a big grin and says, “Sparkle!”
She’s so overcome that she needs to grab a quick hug from her dad before proceeding.

The little girl quickly recovers and rushes to the box to pet her new dog, but not before telling Sparkle ‘thank you’ in the most adorable, heart-exploding way imaginable. What a sweetheart!
Ryleigh and her family named their new puppy Ruby, and she seems to be fitting right in. We’re sure Sparkle will help her adjust to her new home, too.
