Soccer Star Scores Winning Goal After Beating Cancer In Triumphant Return.

Sébastien Haller takes a victory lap after scoring.

Just a year ago, Sébastien Haller was getting ready to make his big return to soccer after beating testicular cancer. Now, he’s celebrating his team’s victory in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Nigeria 2 to 1. Take a wild guess who scored the winning goal! We’re betting the Ivory Coast team is pretty thrilled to have Haller back on their lineup.

When this athlete was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2022, he had to step back from his sport while receiving chemotherapy. By February 2023, Sébastien Haller was back on the field and better than ever! During the AFCON final this year, he scored a last-minute goal that put the Ivory Coast on top in the last nine minutes of regulation time.
