Berywam, a French beatbox crew, are known for creating incredible music. In fact, their Instagram bio says that they are World Beatbox Champions. But creating music isn’t the only way these four guys utilize their impressive skills — they also find interesting ways to have fun with them. One popular way they do this is through something they call a beatbox prank.
It starts when the group carefully places speakers in hidden locations outdoors. Then, from a nearby vehicle, they patiently wait for strangers to get close enough to those speakers. From there, Berywam finds the silliest ways to add sound effects to whatever it is the person is doing — which is soon followed by complete and total confusion, of course.
In their first prank video, they focused on a guy who was (attempting) to work out. But with every movement he made, it sounded as if he were on an animated show. He looked around to find the source, but the speakers were too hidden.
In a second prank video, Berywam focuses on various people as they make their way down a flight of stairs. It’s so fascinating to see people slowly realize that their steps are what is causing the sounds, even if they don’t understand exactly how or why it’s happening.
