Simone Biles Charges Back Into Gymnastics With A Record-Breaking Performance.

Simone Biles has accomplished so much in her gymnastics career. Between the Olympics and world championships, she’s earned 32 medals — and she’s clearly just getting started. On Sunday, the insanely talented 26-year-old did what she does best at the US Gymnastics Championships in San Jose, California.

After a two-year break from gymnastics, Biles is back and more impressive than ever — quite literally. Over the course of the days-long competition, she was able to pull off routines that, according to CNN, other female gymnasts have yet to do.

It’s those very moves that helped Biles win her eighth national all-around title — the previous record of seven wins belonged to Alfred Jochim in 1933. This also made her the oldest woman to win the competition.

Family, friends, and teammates were happy to celebrate with Biles. In fact, there was one particularly heartwarming moment between her and teammate Jordan Chiles. Once Biles had performed, it was Chiles’ turn.

But before Chiles took her turn, she encouraged the crowd to keep cheering for Biles.

“It’s really amazing,” Biles said. “Everybody in here believes in me. So I just need to start believing in myself a little bit more, but it feels amazing and I love the fans, I love the crowd. It was really special.”
