Siblings Forced Into Foster Care Face Judge, But They Can’t Stop Beaming After Her Joyful Words.

Heather Nelson and her husband started fostering children soon after they were married. In 2013, the Nelson’s adopted a brother and sister that were taken from their biological family by the state. The photo series and story below, posted to Facebook, documents the kid’s journey to their final destination in the Nelson’s loving arms. “As foster parents our lives are dissected and put on public display for all to see. We often hear phrases such as ‘I could never do that’ or ‘I would never let those kids in my home’ or ‘I can’t deal with the broken system.’

My reply is this: Look at the pure joy on these kids faces when they are hearing their new adoptive name being declared in the courtroom.

They came to live with us on Dec 10th, 2013 and as of Oct 19th, 2016 they are no longer foster children. They are known and loved by their birth family and they are a part of our forever family.
