Shaquille O’Neal Hears A Crying Baby During An Interview & What He Does Next Will Melt Your Heart

Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O’Neal is larger than life at more than 7 feet tall and 325 pounds. But don’t let his incredible stature scare you. He is as cuddly as a teddy bear and has a soft spot for kids. The father of six knows a thing or two about babies. If there is one thing he can’t stand, it’s to hear a baby cry. No, not because it bothers him, but because he wants them to be happy.

Incredible video posted to @shaqnews on Instagram shows the moment the gentle giant was giving an interview to a crowd and heard a crying baby. Shaq couldn’t continue until he knew the little girl was okay. He said, “I’m sorry, little baby, where are you? Don’t you cry, you little baby?” “I love you, I love babies. Can I see that baby? Can you bring that baby up?”

The next thing we see, the little girl is perched on Uncle Shaq’s lap, and he asks her if she’d like to go to the club with him. He giggles and tells her dad that babysitting will cost him “$200.”

Shaq tells the crying baby, who we learn is named Mia, that he loves her and sends her on her way.

Shaquille O’Neal’s Heart Is Pretty Darn Big

Instagrammers love the wholesome interaction between the larger-than-life basketball icon and the little girl.

One person wrote, “Shaq is too much, man… This is so Loving.”

“Uncle Shaq is the best. Get his email and keep in touch,” an Instagrammer wrote.

There will also be some tears. Like this person, “This got me tearing. Such a kind and loving human.”

And this one, “TEAR JERKER MOMENT FOR ME.”

The sweet and touching moment truly shows that celebrities are people just like us. Thanks, Shaq, for reminding the world that kids are people, too, with big feelings, and sometimes, they just need a hug from a friend.
