In this awe-inspiring clip, Pepper the sea lion pup delivered a captivating swim routine with the help of a simple prop. It turns out that all this creature needs is a length of ribbon to create magic!

While playing with this object, Pepper inadvertently treated zoo guests to the most elegant underwater dance anyone has ever seen. As the animal swam around in circles, they dragged the ribbon along behind them, creating a mesmerizing series of shapes with it. We could watch this marine mammal twirl through the water with their prop all day!
According to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, ribbon can actually make an excellent toy for sea lions. It certainly looks like Pepper enjoyed playing with this item!
“Front row to the underwater ballet with Pepper the sea lion pup, also our pro ribbon dancer,” the zoo wrote in their caption. “This material is used as a safe and fun enrichment for our sea otters, seals and sea lions. Enrichment is key to their wellbeing, and we love seeing them explore, play, and thrive!”
