Scarves And Hats Are Randomly Appearing On Arizona Statues For The Sweetest Reason.

Residents in Mesa, Arizona have been noticing that the statues in their downtown area are suddenly wearing hats and scarves! This phenomenon occurs every year around Christmastime, but it’s not magic. Actually, these warm winter accessories are courtesy of Sharie Monsam and Kendra Cook, a thoughtful aunt-niece duo doing their best to keep their fellow citizens toasty during the holiday season. They’re hoping that any locals in need will take advantage of the free clothing!

“This is the fourth winter that we have collected hats and scarves from family, friends and neighbors,” said Sharie, according to 12News. “And also, we purchased them at thrift stores. And then we put them on the statues downtown, probably 15 to 18 statues.”

Many folks have been staying warm thanks to the hats and scarves distributed through these public statues. Sharie really wants more people to join in her generous holiday tradition.

“We all can make a difference,” she said. “Every single person would make a difference. Find something that you can do to help other people. I personally think that’s what we’re here on earth for.”

Sharie couldn’t be more right. If you need more proof that one person’s kindness can make a big impact, check out how this woman serves her community with her annual yard sale!
