The Primetime Emmy Awards on September 14 brought together many of Hollywood’s greatest talents. Among the award recipients was the iconic Sally Field. She won her fourth Emmy Award on Monday night, and it was a historic win. At 79 years old, Sally Field became the oldest winner for Lead Actress in a limited or anthology series or TV Movie for her work in “Remarkably Bright Creatures.” Former record holder Jessica Tandy was just a few months younger than Sally.

Sally Field Shared Her Excitement Following the Historic Emmy Win
Sally Field’s acceptance speech for her historic Emmy Award thanked many people, including her co-star.
“I wouldn’t be up here [without the] magical talent of Lewis Pullman, who stood next to me the whole time,” she said. “I would not be up here.”
Sally Field added that she feels she has had her career after so many years.
“I have been so grateful and so proud to be a part of this community, the arts, for 62 years or something,” she said. “We’re the arts, we matter. Our voices matter. Our diversity, our unique storytelling matters.”
Sally Field not only won an Emmy, but she also joined Reba McEntire in paying tribute to the late Dolly Parton. Per People, Sally shared additional beautiful words about her dear friend in the press room.
“It was my great good fortune to have worked with Dolly in a film called Steel Magnolias, and over the years, I never stopped loving her. Though we lived very far apart, I adored her from day one. How could you not?” Sally said. “She was genuine and humble, supportive, and blisteringly funny, with a bawdy sense of humor that would send any rude guy looking for a place to hide. I couldn’t see then what a real giant Dolly was — not just as an artist, but as a human.”
