River Of Wine Cascades Down Streets Of Portugal Town Like A Scene From A Movie.

581,000 gallons of red wine cascade down a windy road in São Lourenço do Bairro, Portugal.

This week, a small town in Portugal is garnering attention for an unusual reason. According to a local newspaper, tanks at a distillery ruptured, sending 581,000 gallons of wine out into the streets. With a population of about 2,500 residents, it’s safe to say that this caught the attention of many folks in São Lourenço do Bairro.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident. Instead, residents were likely both confused and a bit in awe at the river of wine that crashed through the city’s streets. A video shared online captures the red liquid cascading down a hilly street, a scene that looks like it came from a movie.

Destilaria Levira, the company who owns the wine, has issued an apology, promising to take on any costs this unusual event has caused. This includes a flooded cellar and ensuring that the liquid doesn’t affect local farms, water supplies, and vineyards.

While an investigation begins to uncover why the tanks ruptured, Destilaria Levira has thanked local firefighters for their help amidst the confusing chaos.
