If you were a kid in the late 90s, or if you had a kid in the late 90s, there’s a 99% chance you had at least a few Beanie Babies in your home!
In case you somehow missed it, Beanie Babies were small stuffed animals filled with beans that were all the rage. The Beanie Baby craze was a wonderful phenomenon that brought joy and excitement to people’s lives.

For those who had a passion for the ocean and all its creatures, Seaweed the otter was the ultimate Beanie Baby. With his sleek brown fur and little green strip of kelp, Seaweed captured the essence of the otter perfectly. Seaweed was a perfect introduction to the beauty and wonder of the ocean. He certainly spurred more than a handful toward a marine biology degree!
3. Stinger The Scorpion – The Budding Entomologist
Stinger the scorpion was the perfect Beanie Baby for anyone who eventually made their way into the study of insects/invertebrates. It felt like Stinger was another excellent appreciation for animals other people might find “scary.” Stinger was a reminder that even the most misunderstood creatures could be fascinating and beautiful. If you had a curiosity about the natural world, Stinger was the perfect companion to fuel your passion.
4. Magic The Dragon – Fantasy Novel Enthusiasts Assemble!
If you loved (and still love) fantasy novels, you probably had this Beanie Baby! Magic the dragon brought the world of mythical creatures to life. If you looked closely, you would notice the mischievous glint in his eye and a smile that promised endless adventures. Whether you were a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien or loved the world of Harry Potter, Magic the dragon was a Beanie Baby that would transport you to a realm of fantasy and wonder.
5. Mystic The Unicorn – The Classic Mythical BFF
