Reba McEntire Breaks Silence After Stepson’s Death

Brandon Blackstock passed away on August 7 at age 48 from melanoma. Brandon was the ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson and the father of her children, River and Remington. What some may not know is that Brandon Blackstock also had a very special relationship with Reba McEntire. Reba married Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock, in 1989. They divorced in 2015. She and Narvel gave Brandon his beloved little brother, Shelby Blackstock. The Fancy singer broke her silence nearly a week after his death in a touching Instagram post.

“Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God. His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence. There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together,” Reba wrote.

Reba McEntire will miss Brandon Blackstock and all the joy he brought to her life. She shared several photos of the pair together, and no matter what they were doing, they always had big smiles on their faces.

“His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again,” she concluded her post.

Friends and fans shared messages of love with a heartbroken Reba.

“Love you and love every memory with Brandon—especially growing up. Praying for God’s peace and comfort over all of you,” one wrote.

“Sending so much love. May he Rest In Peace and may God bless you all with strength and consolation,” another person shared.

This fan shared love with Reba McEntire and all those who loved Brandon Blackstock.

“So sorry for your loss, prayers to you, to Narvel, to Kelly and her kids and to the rest of your family and friends,” they wrote.
