Alex Dunhom and her family live in Nashua, New Hampshire, which will be covered with thick blankets of snow for the foreseeable future.
That’s a big problem for at least one member of a family that lives nearby. Her joints are so stiff that she can’t make it up and down the front porch steps, so her family drew up plans for a big construction project.

Why would you build a ramp that ended in your yard? Why not just build the ramp from the doorway to the driveway? That’s what Alex’s dad couldn’t figure out, and it had to be driving him nuts. During the following weeks, he probably considered and tossed any number of bizarre explanations. But it all became clear one day near the end of November.
“Dad has replaced his confusion with admiration for these 10/10 owners and their very good dog,” she wrote.
No, these neighbors weren’t throwing their doors open for a bear. That’s Nestle, an aged chocolate lab who has the same mobility problems as everyone else who’s getting up there in years and needs as much help as she can get. And if this loved and cherished member of the family needed help, they’d move mountains – or at least sacrifice a large swath of lawn – to do it.
And the internet’s craze for this sweet pup got the attention of the owner who shared even more details about her dog.
