For nine months, an expecting uncle was beside himself with excitement as he waited to meet his brother’s son. When the day finally came, he burst into the hospital room ready to hold the newborn, and he didn’t expect the sweet news that came next.
The uncle, Hayden, originally went viral when he found out that the new mom, Katie, was expecting. She recorded him and his now-wife opening gifts that cleverly revealed the news. Once he realized what was happening, he was paralyzed with happiness and then broke down into the most wholesome sobs.
Kate recorded a second video of her brother-in-law the day he held her son for the first time—because she wanted to capture the moment Hayden learned that she named the baby after him. As you would expect, hearing that the little guy bore his name was an emotional experience for Hayden.
In the video, Hayden is already visibly choked up when he comes into the room. He carefully takes the baby into his arms and gets lost in love before saying he’s “the cutest thing” he’s ever seen.
“Do you wanna know his name?” his brother asks. “Brooks Hayden Stone.”
Hayden processes the news for a split second and then drops his jaw, “You swear? You’re dead serious?”
The shocked uncle begins to cry and holds his namesake nephew even closer.
“Oh, I already love him so much!” He says “…I love you guys. This is awesome. I can’t believe this.”
“We have to protect Uncle Hayden at all costs because that is the purest of humans,” wrote a follower.

Uncle Hayden and Baby Brooks Are “Best Friends”
Over a year has passed since Uncle Hayden first met baby Brooks, and the reveal video continues to trend. Katie recently shared an update on the relationship to showcase how close the two have grown, despite living across the country from each other.
According to Kate, Hayden makes the trip to see Brooks often to ensure their connection stays strong, and he will be moving to their area in a few months. Brooks “lights up” whenever Hayden enters a room, and they’re “best friends.”
“It affirms to us that we made the right decision with his name,” she concluded.
