Queen Elizabeth II would have turned 100 years old on April 21, 2026. Though Great Britain’s longest-sitting monarch passed away in 2022, the royal family didn’t want the date to pass without doing something special. The family gathered with a large crowd at Buckingham Palace. Princess Kate wore a strand of Queen Elizabeth’s pearls with a beautiful purple gown to pay tribute to her late grandmother-in-law.

Princess Kate Looked Beautiful in the Queen’s Pearls
According to Tatler, the pearls Princess Kate wore appear to be the same strand Queen Elizabeth wore in her final portrait in 2022. Queen Elizabeth often wore pearls and had several necklaces.
The prince and princess shared beautiful photos and video from Queen Elizabeth’s 100th birthday celebration. Many gathered at the palace and enjoyed conversation, smiles, and a very delicious-looking cake.
Princess Kate looked so lovely in the pearl necklace. She always appears to be the most approachable member of the royal family.
“A special reception at Buckingham Palace to commemorate the thewales_family100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II, joined by representatives of charities and organisations close to Her late Majesty’s heart, along with individuals celebrating their own 100th birthdays,” the Instagram caption reads.
“The Prince and Princess of Wales are amazing and I am sure Queen Elizabeth II would be very proud of them,” a follower wrote.
“Such a special day remembering Queen Elizabeth on what would have been her 100th birthday! I’m sure that wherever she is, she’s smiling and looking at both of you with pride,” another person agreed.
Seeing Prince William and Princess Kate’s leadership inspires many people with hope for the future.
“This is what ‘authentic’ looks like, and I am here for it,” someone complimented.
