Life is never dull for Prince William and Kate Middleton. In addition to their official duties, the pair also has three young children to raise. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis keep them on their toes and on the go. Even though the children don’t have the same kind of life as our kids might, the royal family enjoys several hobbies in their downtime. Of course, those might not be the kinds of hobbies their parents love, but Kate and William feel strongly that their children should express themselves.

Kate Middleton Spoke About the Royal Family’s Hobbies at a Recent Appearance
HELLO! reported that Kate Middleton met with children at the Family Action’s Children’s Trauma Therapy Service in North England on January 27. Stuart Murray-Borbjerg, senior therapist, told the news outlet that Kate was a wonderful visitor.
“She seemed genuinely interested to hear about the family’s experience of the service and the impact of it,” he said.
As they spoke about dealing with trauma and the non-verbal impact, they discussed the importance of music and play. Kate Middleton shared that the royal family’s musical hobbies help keep her going.
“Something that’s lost through traumatic experiences is that sense of playfulness and joy which just comes back when you’re making music, or you’re drawing together,” Stuart added. “[It’s] something the Princess said too – that kind of gets lost as adults, but [Prince] George keeps her playful. I think she said one [of her children] plays the guitar and one plays the drums.”
During 2025’s Together at Christmas, we saw Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte playing a duet of Holm Sound by Erland Cooper on the piano.
Music is such a beautiful outlet, and it’s no surprise it’s one of the royal family’s favorite hobbies.
