There’s something so beautiful about humans and animals finding ways to live in harmony with one another. Mads, a photographer and musician in Oklahoma City, gets to experience this joy quite often. She lives in what she calls a nature park. Being here gives her the opportunity to see all sorts of beautiful creatures, many of which she shares on social media. This includes a very adorable, and pregnant, deer.

This sweet deer wandered into her backyard in May. It was pretty clear that the animal was pregnant. So, Mads made sure to feed her. A mere six days later, that very same deer returned. Except this time, she brought a friend with her — the baby deer she had recently given birth to! See their sweet interactions with Mads in the viral video below.

“Fun fact about deer, they’ll keep coming back each time with new babies because they deem it a safe spot for both her and her child,” someone shares in reply to Mads’ video. Another person writes, “The gasp I gusped when the baby popped its head out from behind the tree!”

How special must Mads feel? This pregnant mama deer felt so safe in her backyard, she chose to come back with her newborn. Here’s hoping they come back for many more visits. Speaking of which, in general, it’s best to not feed wild animals. That said, according to Mads, there’s a reason why she feels safe doing so.
