When Lauren Hendy had the opportunity to visit The Sound of Music house, she was quick to take it. The home still looks stunning… but it’s no longer a house. Instead, the building used for the von Trapp home is now a luxury hotel. In the backyard, you can expect to find a familiar view of a beautiful lake. Check out the views yourself in the video below!

It gets better! This stunning hotel is only one location for fans of the movie to visit. In fact, there’s a whole tour for visitors to take, if they’d like help. The tour includes locations like the Nonnberg Convent (which can’t be entered), Mirabell Garden and Pegasus Fountain (where Maria and the children danced), the Gazebo, and more!

It’s no wonder that, every year, Salzburg, Austria welcomes countless visitors from all around the world. So much time, effort, and care has gone into preserving a number of the film’s locations, and it really shows. Now, does anyone else have a new item for their bucket list?
