Postal Worker Finds Note Inside Mailbox Warning About The Critter Who Lives Inside

Close up of a mailbox as someone starts to open it. Text on the image reads: Let me introduce you to Norma...

When you’re a postal worker, you’re bound to meet all sorts of animals. Most of the time, it’s the kind you’d expect like dogs or cats. But every once in a while, they’re greeted by a more unusual creature, like roosters. That said, these birds are far from the most unique animals they can run into. For the mail carriers that deliver to Cassie Sharp’s mailbox, they can expect to be greeted by a tiny spider.

While many people would have killed that spider, Cassie is not one of them. She adores creatures of all kinds, especially the ones others tend to fear. Last year, a spider made Cassie’s mailbox her home. It was so welcoming, she’s back this year, too! Now, Cassie is doing everything she can to keep this spider, who she named Norma, safe. One way she’s doing this is by leaving a note for her mail carrier, as seen below.

“Call me crazy if you want to…. But I love the critters most would instantly kill,” Cassie writes in the caption of her viral video. “Norma is so beautiful!”

Meet Norma, the Adorable Jumping Spider Who Happily Lives in a Woman’s Mailbox

As spooky as Norma may look to some of us, she’s actually pretty harmless. It’s incredibly rare for them to bite humans and, when they do, it barely hurts. Plus, they can actually be pretty helpful. Their diet consists of houseflies, stink bugs, and other pests that are of much more concern than the jumping spiders themselves.

Folks from all over are falling in love with this surprisingly cute spider. That’s why Cassie gave an update, as shown in the video above. Like last year, Normal is busy bringing even more babies into the world. Even the most spider averse people are invested in Mom’s life in Cassie’s mailbox!

“Do I hate spiders? Yes,” someone in the comments admits. “Did I watch the video of you telling the mailman about her? Yes. Did I come to your page for more Norma? Yes.”
