Portland Man Bought Abandoned Jumbo Jet, Transformed It Into Amazing Luxury Home!

Each year hundreds of airline planes are decommissioned (sometimes at the rate of three per day!). But you probably wouldn’t guess what happens to them… they’re usually abandoned and then, for the most part, shredded and sold for parts.

Bruce Campbell chose to save one of those planes for something more useful – his home!

“The Portland-based aeronautics enthusiast makes his home in a converted Boeing 727 that was once used as a Greek aircraft until the mid-1960s and now resides in a forest near Portland,” according to Great Big Story.

By clearing out seats, reorganizing them into ‘furniture,’ taking advantage of every facility on the plane (and just being innovative in every way), Bruce transformed the abandoned jet into an appealing and luxurious home.

And the best part for him: peace and quiet in an isolated forest. If you’re more of a social, big city kind of person, you are far from home on this one. But if you’re comforted by stillness (and planes), this is definitely something you’d find interesting.

Take a tour through this incredible home and hear Bruce’s explanation about why and how he’s made it his own in the video below.
