Teen With Down Syndrome Shares Powerful Moment By Mom’s Grave Before Graduation.

It’s been a trying year for all of us, but for PJ Marshall of Louisiana, it’s still worth celebrating.

In June, the teen with Down syndrome graduated from Haughton High School, and his family couldn’t be prouder! PJ couldn’t wait to walk with his classmates, but before heading off to his commencement ceremony, he had to make a special stop.

As much as PJ wishes otherwise, his beloved mother, LaTanya Wilson Marshall, wasn’t able to celebrate with him.

In 2010, she passed away at just 46 years old. Though she is no longer here, PJ knows she would be absolutely thrilled by his accomplishments. So he took a trip to the cemetery where she is buried to share the wonderful news with her.

With a bouquet of flowers in his hand, PJ stood in front of her tombstone and spoke from the heart, trying to capture the love he has for the mom he misses every day.

“Mommy, I have something to say. I did it. I graduated today,” he said. “I know you’re so proud of me and happy, and I love you so much.”

Looking back on this milestone, PJ’s heart will always ache to know he couldn’t have his mother by his side. By including her in this powerful moment, he honored LaTanya, and we know she was there in spirit!

Congratulations, PJ! Your amazing mom is proud of you, and so are we!

Rest in peace, LaTanya. You raised an amazing son who is surely destined for great things. Growing up without a parent isn’t easy, but clearly, your influence has stayed with him over the years. We only wish you could see the wonderful man he is becoming today!

See PJ’s moving visit with his mom in the video below, and share this story to congratulate him.
